Kaboodle Blog Challenge No 25 - Fancy Folds

One last card for this week and this time I thought of doing a card for the Kaboodle Doodles Challenge No 25. It's Fancy Folds this time and so I did a spring card for a 2 year old boy. Hope you like the card..

The digi image is called Timmy Tiger, and was created by Wendy Hall (thanks so much Wendy, I just loved colouring it xx). It was free at Digital Delights and I coloured it with promarkers.

Thanks for looking and for all your lovely comments.

*** I'm back... I just added a tag but don't know which one I like best now!!

Preggie Mommy

Isn't she cute ???? That is... Preggie Mommy, isn't she cute?

When I saw her I just fell in love with her and I just had to use it. I only got it yesterday from Heather's Coffee Break but it will only be available in March or April, Heather isn't sure yet, so if you like her, I would suggest you keep a lookout at her shop here.

But you may be asking.. so how is it I got it?? Yep.. if you're asking this it means you didn't read my previous post he he !!! And this is why I like Challenges and Hops because sometimes you do win, not always, but this is part of the fun, taking part and sometimes winning. And this is what I am doing again today.

I am entering this card in the Papertake Weekly Challenge because this week they got a fabulous price from Simon Says Stamp. Woo Hoo a whooping $25 from Simon Stays Stamp! I'd love that!

So if you'd like to take part you have until Monday I think, 'cos the new challenge begins every Tuesday and this week we had to follow this sketch here.

Hope you like my card. I coloured the image with promarkers and I stamped the background with a daisy stamp in green ink and watercoloured them in yellow. I then sprayed the whole background lightly with green markers.

Thanks for looking...

A great day!

Oh what a great day today..

First, I bought the March issue of one of my fave magazines, the Cardmaking & Papercraft ..

and who was there ... ME!! See there I am on the top left hand corner!

Woo Hoo :) I won a lovely handy Storage with Style craft bag! This will surely be useful to take with me for my card making lessons which I hold here for the kids! But that is not all.... 'cos then back home.. I found TWO, yes TWO packs for me in my letter box.

OMG .. couldn't believe it! One had this set of five Promarkers which I won at the I ♥ ProMarkers Challenge and then the other was from my dear friend Kelly,.

OMG all those goodies!!! so beautiful. I don't find these things here in Malta! I just loved them. Can't wait to get my hands on them ... but again... that is not all..

What else now you are saying!!

I won something else, and this time from Heather's Coffee Break. Yesterday I participated in a blog hop, and well... I was one of the winners!!! I really enjoyed the hop 'cos first of all I got to see so many lovely cards, and secondly, I really loved the secret word thing, cos I never manage to do a blog hop with just the comments. This is because I never can leave a comment when the comment form is not set to a Pop Up Form, don't know why I got this problem, so this time I didn't have this problem as we had to get the word. ... mind you, I still left messages!!! And what did I win... two gorgeous digi images of my choice from the Fresh Brewed Designs Shop.. can't wait to get them!

Now for a card now of course... this is what I did today using the free gift tags from the Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine. The papers were from the Quick Cards magazine and they were also a freebie with the magazine. I thought I might enter it for the All Sorts Challenge since for this Week 40 it was 'A Tag, Ticket or Label'. Hope you like it.

** Please can you change your comment form to a popup as I wasn't able to leave a comment. Thanks

My Card for THEA

Thea is my friend, she is just 17 years old and she just won the Malta song Festival!!! Aweeessooome !!! We were soooo delighted for her.

So, next May, she is going to Norway for the Eurovision Song Contest and I would really love it if you take a little moment of your precious time to hear her sing with her lovely voice.

Thank you so much for your time and please remember to vote for her in May ! Thanks

I made this card for her, which I must say is totally different from what I usually do and I felt I was doing a scrapbook page instead, which I have never done.

Oh.. and yes... the 'birdie' (Jes), is also my friend.. but I didn't want to ruin the surprise :)

And again ... I intend to do a candy to spread the word for my friend, so come back to keep a look out ;)

Lily of the Valley - Challenge 47

The Challenge at the Lily of the Valley this week was to use this lovely sketch here below designed by Domi. I loved this sketch immediately as it wasn't something I normally do and so I immediately set out to try my hands at it.

Here is my card for the Challenge. The digi image was a free one from Motivet, there's the link on my sidebar if you like to get it, and I coloured it with Promarkers.

And here is the same card to which I added some sentiment, but of course, this not for the Challenge as the sketch didn't have any sentiment.. . . but I thought I liked it like this as well.

Passion for Promarkers - Week 39

It's been such a busy week this one but I finally made it for the challenge at the Passion for Promarkers. The challenge this week was to use buttons and bows and I have to admit I've never used buttons on any of my cards before. So this is what I came up with... hope you like it.

I stamped the background with a daisy stamp and used water-colours to colour the daisies yellow. The stamp was a free one in the Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine and the butterfly is a new punch which I just bought last week... I'm so happy with it :) There actually are two butterflies on top of each other so the wings of the top stand out more but the pic doesn't show that much.

Sunshine Award

How sweet, look what I have just received ... a Sunshine Award from Kelly, my very first follower and my new friend. You won't be disappointed if you hop over to her blog, 'cos her cards are always so awesome and she always has something new to show us. I also heard about the tear bears from her 'cos I had never before knew this technique existed, and I want to try them out sometime soon.

And so the rules, as I read, 'cos this is new to me, are as follows:
*Put the logo on your blog or within your post.
*Pass the award onto 6 bloggers who are followers of your blog.
*Link the nominees within your post.
*Let the nominees know they have received this award by commenting on their blog.
*Share the love and link to the person from whom you received this award.

I ♥ ProMarkers Challenge No 2

Hello, here is me again with my card for this week's I ♥ ProMarkers Challenge :) I've been quite busy this week, but ... well ... I made it!

As I was saying yesterday, this card is for my hubby's aunt who is a nun in an old people's home and it's the first time I'm making a card for her. I'm confident she'll like it 'cos the piccie is such a cutie :)

So for the challenge.. We had to follow this sketch and the theme was Spring.

I got the piccie, which was a free one, from here, the papers from issue 70 of my fave magazine, Quick Cards Made Easy and here is my card .. Hope you like it. Thanks for visiting and for any comments you may wish to leave me :)

Colours I used :
Teddy - Apricot and cinnamon
Apron - Aegan and arctic blue
Flower - Canary and orange, Grass and Meadow green
Watering Can - Ice Greys 2 and 4
Hat - Orange and cinnamon
I think those were all, if I remembered well

The Crafty Pad Stamp Candy

I just found this fabulous candy here at The Crafty Pad Stamp where you can win 10 YES 10 stamps... woo hooo!!! .. Oh I wish I would win this one! She got some other lovely stamps too, I really like the giraffe ones especially, they're so cute.

It however closes tomorrow Monday 22nd February, so if you want your chance in this one, hurry up and hop over to her blog.

Deb's Candy - 10 Stamps to be won. Ends 22nd February

A little break

Weee :) ... nearly ready.. that is from the housework :\

So now I'm having a little break to have a look at what's new on my fave sites here, while having some lunch and then I'm hoping to do a card for my hubby's aunt who is a nun in an old people's home. We didn't have much contact previously, but my mother, unfortunately, has had to move here and so now that I'm seeing her more often I just happened to hear her say that it was her birthday tomorrow.

Any occasion is a good excuse to make a card :) and of course, if I combine it with a challenge, it's even much better ... cos I've noticed that I do get more comments when I enter a card in a challenge and I do love comments ... unfortunately.

Cupcake Craft Challenge

A quick visit today Friday to post this card for the Cupcake Craft Challenge.

This week the challenge was to "Keep it Simple", and they are being sponsored by Soft Pencil, so the winner gets a lovely $20 gift voucher to spend in their shop.. wow :) couldn't resist participating, even though the number of entrants is enormous... but well, the fun of it all is to participate, if you win it's a bonus and if you don't participate you can never win :)

Here is my card, which I made for a colleague of mine.

Cards for Men Challenge - GREEN

Sometime this week I came across the Cards for Men Blog, and this immediately caught my attention as most of the time I'm making ... yes .. cards for men!!! and they are not easy to do! This blog was what I needed as I really need some inspiration.

Well, today I had another male card to do for someone who's turning 50, and so I used this month's challenge for inspiration, which was to use the colour GREEN.

And here is what I came up with....

Hope you like it!

The image was free from Dustin Pike and I coloured it with Promarkers.

Get Well Soon Card

Do you like Digital Images? Now who doesn't! Well for this card here, which I made for the Kaboodle Blog Challenge No 24, I used a free digital image from Lost in Paper Scraps. She got a whole library of beautiful free digis, and they are all as cute as this whale here that I used. So why don't you hop over and have a look!

Anyway, back to Kaboodle Doodles, the challenge was to use Spots and Stripes, but well, it said 'ideally', so I thought I could get away with just spots, 'cos as you can see, I only managed to use spots in my card! The prize this month is a pack of brand new Kaboodle Doodle paper so come on, join in the fun, the prize looks just brill :)

Hope you like my card!

Card for Kids' Lesson

As I was saying in my previous post, I was away for two days.. just away from here, but it doesn't mean that I wasn't crafting... no no.. on the contrary.. I was very busy preparing for the Card Making Lesson which I hold every forth-night on Tuesdays for some kids here where I live.

As the kids are very young, I prepare a card beforehand for them on Monday, and they just do like it. Sometimes, however, I do get quite mixed up on what to do, 'cos the card has to be easy, fun and colourful and has to keep them busy for 1 1/2hrs :)

And here is what we did yesterday! Quite simple, and they loved it 'cos they got to do stamping, colouring and punching as well!

I won at the Cutting Cafe'

I've been away for two days, and OMG I won!!! Yes, I won the Cutting Café Contest for the baby card I made last week... and I get to choose my prize too... Woo Hoo!!!

Here is the card again..

I ♥ ProMarkers Challenge

This week, a colleague of mine asked me when do I manage to do housework?? Yikes.. when? How do I manage? Working, two kids! Yes, today, a Saturday, I'm running about non stop trying to do everything all in one go so that I'll have time for my cards :)

For this weeks' I ♥ ProMarkers Challenge, not that I expect to win again!!!, mind you, but I just loooove promarkers, just had to take part again... Anyway, I used this lovely Popcorn the Bear stamp which I won from my favourite magazine the Cardmaking and Papercraft for being First Past The Post, and I also used the fab paper pack which was the free gift this month in the magazine. We had to follow the sketch below and also use the colours Pink and Brown.

Valentine Wedding

Isn't it great, it's Friday??!!! can't believe it's already Friday, I really didn't see the week pass by.... perhaps because I was so engrossed with my new blog ;)

I got a party tonight, actually a Carnival Ball. I get to dress up, and this year I'll be wearing arabian :)))

So, I don't think I'll have much time to do a card tonight, and so I thought I'd share with you a card I made last week instead for a Valentine Wedding next Sunday.

I used an embossing board to do the embossing on the hearts which was free in my favourite magazine, the Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine. The papers were also free, but in the Quick Cards magazine, but you can download 'til your hearts desire from here.

Hope you like ..

Passion for Promarkers Challenge - Week 38

I am back again today as I wanted to enter this card I've just made for the Passion for Promarkers Challenge. The challenge was to use the colours "Agean, Sky blue and Cool Aqua" and after checking if I had these colours, off I went to do it.

I don't however understand myself how I wanted to challenge myself even more! 'cos I'm not so good with male cards, and here I was doing just that, when I could do anything else.

Fairy Card

Today I made this card for a new friend. It was a public holiday here in Malta, so I had some extra time to do it.

I made it using a Lily of the Valley stamp, background papers from Do Crafts, 'Just for You' stamp also from Do Crafts and what else... PROMARKERS of course !!

I hope she likes it :)))

Card for a little girl and Freebies

Today I made this card for a little girl, Delia who was diagnosed with Leukemia and is currently being treated at the Denver Children's Hospital. As she loves art, photography and owls, Dustin Pike made some free digis for anyone who would love to send her a card of encouragement.

So if you'd like to send her a card too, and get some really gorgeous digi freebies go to Dustin Pike for details and to get your free digis.

Here's mine .......

Valentine - Forever Friends

I couldn't believe it today as I returned home from work... there... nearly falling out of my letter box ... all bent and squashed... was a packet for me. I knew it was the Quick Cards Made Easy magazine, to which I have just subscribed and it was the first one that I was receiving by post. My letter box wasn't small, because my OH bought a new letter box just so that this won't happen ... and what does our postman do ... !!! I couldn't believe it!!!!

So now, for now, I've left him a little note on the letter box... and we'll see what happens! Can't let this happen again !

On to something nicer, here's a card I made for a friend.. Valentine of course, using the Forever Friends Single Rose stamp which I coloured with promarkers.

Update - Friday 26th February *****

I have just came across the Forever Friends Challenge Blog> which I didn't knew existed and so since I got some FF stamps and I happen to love them so much, I started following and I thought I might enter this card for this challenge here. It closes next Sunday on the 28th February and the theme was hearts ..... well I got them and I'm still in time !!!

Cutting Cafe' Contest

Regina at the Cutting Café is giving away for Free until next Monday the 8th, two different image packages and she is also holding a contest .. Yeah!!! to try and win four of her fab sets. Of course, I had to try and here is my entry ...

I have used both sets... I used the polka dots to cut out the pram and the flowers for the background. Hope you like it :)) xx

Cats Card

Meow .. Meow .. first thing that comes to mind.. Cats of course, and yes, this card is from two cats!!! , 'cos sometimes I have really specific requests! In fact this card was ordered by someone who wanted to give a Thank You card for the people working in the Quarantine Unit here as her cats were there for some time as she was moving here to Malta. On the front she wanted to write the words "Thank You", but I thought .. cats don't talk.. so I used the "Meow" words from the papers and wrote the "Thank You" on the inside and she just looved it!!!

The papers were a prize which I had won from a Pets Challenge on Craft Bubble ... Luckily I hadn't used them all.

Claire's Weekly Challenge 27.01.10

Today I made this card for Claire's Challenge on the Do Crafts Website. I wasn't sure if I was doing it right as I'm new to sketches, but well, the important thing is that I enjoyed doing it, mostly as I was using my Promarkers :)

So, for the how I did it...I embossed the background vellum paper using an embossing ruler which was free in an issue of the CMPC magazine. The Newton Bear was also a free stamp in a card making magazine, not sure which one, but anyway, it was either Quick Cards Made Easy or Cardmaking and Papercrafts, and the hearts border stamp I bought from the Do Crafts. The striped paper is from the new Papermania Red Hot Paper Pack, which I just got last week!
