Use Something New

It's been quite some time since my last post as now both challenges that I am DT in are both fortnightly. Yes the challenge I ♥ Promarkers is no longer weekly from this year and we have also split up in two teams, so team 1 makes cards for the first week and team 2 makes cards for the second week. .. .. With this new setup I wonder if I'll be able to find some more time to make an extra card or two to post here, I'm sure I can :)   Anyway, so today it's time for me to post my DT card and the theme for this week  is

USE SOMETHING NEW

I'm sure you've all been buying new stuff, so this will be an easy challenge. As for me, I haven't been buying much crafty stuff lately, so it's just the image that is new and the background striped DP.

 

 To make up my card I used this fun image, My Racing Car,  from our sponsor for this week

The Paper Shelter, which of course I colored with my promarkers, using colors to match the lovely colorful car DP from my Eco Park Paper Pack.

Embossing

A day late with my card this week but we were having problems with the internet when I got home and then it was already time to go for my Bokwa class, so I just didn't have time then.

Not one of my best cards this week!!! just didn't have much mojo after I came back from Gozo. .. why does this always happen to me :P

EMBOSSING

I used some white-core cardstock to do the embossing on .. love how the embossing stands out after the sanding of the card. The DP was free in a magazine as was the lion image which I colored with my promarkers.

One for the Boys

I didn't go out running this week.. The weather has been very windy and chilly brrr and I didn't feel like going out! Yesterday however, while taking my son to his Maths private lesson, I saw people jogging outside, which made me feel guilty, so I'm going to make an extra effort and do my training today, keeping fingers crossed that weather will be nicer :) !!

Anyway, it's Wednesday today, so time for a new challenge at

I was so excited about this as it was my turn to get to choose a clear stamp set to make my card this week and I immediately chose Jake's Stamp Set, which I loved instantly as soon as I saw it. I  thought it would be perfect to make a card for my son who likes to play with his skateboard!

The stamp set, which stamps so nice and clear, consists of six stamps. I used five of them, the boy stamp, the skateboard and small stars which I stamped on the background DP, the sentiment stamp and another stamp which I used to stamp on the sides of the DP and on the sentiment! I was so pleased with how my card turned out and really enjoyed making it :)

For a Child

Hello everyone.. I'm still here :P My posts are so sparse lately, sorry, but have lots going on at the moment...  long hours at the office, hubby on leave and painting the house, and the usual Bokwa classes and marathon training as well!!! Since I had my birthday this year and reached the age of 45 I have become somewhat of a fitness enthusiast (or freak?? ha ha). Last Sunday in fact I did the 7km President's Fun Run for Charity and I really enjoyed it. I used to do it as a walk but I've been wishing to do the run instead, so this year, after lots of training, I managed it and am so proud of myself too :) Really wish to continue, but don't want to give up my card making too.. and so I'm really hoping to be better off next year doing less hours at the office!!

To make my card I used a Forever Friends stamp and if you look closely, even the ribbon has the cute teddy on it! I colored the image with my promarkers, border die cut is from Crafty Sentiments and then used Papermania die cut flowers which I've had for a very very long time... I really love it when I do this :)

Minnie Mouse

Unfortunately lately I haven't been the ideal blogger.... the fact is that I have been a bit busy with ordered card and also busy with lots of exercising as I will taking part in a marathon; a short one of 7km. It has always been my wish to do a marathon, and so when the bank where I work offered it's staff professional coaching to do the President's Run in December, I immediately applied! This of course doesn't leave me much free time, but I am so enjoying it and am so looking forward to the run now which I'm really hoping won't be my last!!!

Anyway, today Sunday I thought I would share this card I made for a girl who loves Minnie Mouse.

I found the image from the internet, DP is from Nitwits, star die is Spellbinders, flower border die, which I colored with my promarkers, is Memory Box and the number die is Die-Namics. The lovely letters dies are new, and they are Tattered Lace.. so pleased I got these as the other letter dies I have are larger and you had to cut a lot of letters together, not just the ones you needed, besides that they do not cut as clean as these.

I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

The theme for this week is

SONGS

It's completely up to you how you interpret this theme but don't forget to use ProMarkers, FlexMarkers, AcquaMarkers or Trias on your cards/projects.

For my card this week I have opted to use a free kids' coloring image from the internet, a jungle themed one, as I had thought the song The Lion Sleeps Tonight would be perfect for this theme... and in fact that is why you can't see the lion in my card .. as he is sleeping :P 

I printed the image three times to make it 3D, which of course I colored with my promarkers and then I just embellished it with some of my dies.

Curious George

Hello everyone, welcome to my new followers, thank you for following me. It's a pleasure to have you here in my card making adventure, hope you will enjoy coming along. Today I thought I would share this card I made for the son of a friend of mine, who as you can see, loves the cartoon Curious George a lot.

I printed the image three times and then popped it up for dimension with lots of foam.

I used my Memory Box die to make the landscape and used my SOG clear stamp to stamp the background and make the clouds as well.

I love how it turned out and when his mommy saw it, she wondered for how long George would stay on the card ... oops!! Not sure if I was pleased :(

Hello afternoon everyone.. It's been nearly a week since I have posted anything on me blog.. but I've been over to Gozo with my Bokwa friends and haven't been crafting much lately unfortunately .. this is what Summer does to me .. unfortunately yet again!! I do try, but it's so difficult.

Add A Charm

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a good week. Yesterday I managed to hop along to say hello to some of you my friends.. but of course I didn't manage all, so I'm really hoping to find some more time this week. I'm not as busy now as last week, just a few Holy Communion cards now .. and that's it !

I liked this theme as do have quite a few charms which I've had for quite some time but always forget to use them ha ha :P .. so there is my charm .. a little golden colored sun which I attached to some twine...thought it would be perfect to go with this gorgeous image, Beach Life.  

I coloured the image with my promarkers, and then just popped it up on this fun Summery DP which was a magazine freebie. I really love how it turned out.

Hi everyone, I'm so late with my DT Card today! Actually I'm late with lots of other things.. but one by one I'll be there, better late than never.. Anyway for now it's time for my DT card for the new challenge that started today at

Good morning everyone. It's not a nice day here in Malta today, in fact it's been cloudy since Monday and now it's windy as well, expecting rain as well :( Me and hubby had planned to take the day off tomorrow to go to Gozo with Pam, who is in Malta for this week with her hubby for a holiday, so I am really so disappointed! Of course, we're still meeting Pam, but still not sure if to go to Gozo or not yet!

Crafty Sentiments April Release

Good morning everyone. It's not a nice day here in Malta today! Pfft!!! I had planned to go to the Sunday market in Marsaxlokk this morning to buy fresh fish, then pick up mum from the old people's home to have lunch with us and take her out somewhere, so not sure what we will be doing now .. this not to mention that I already missed my early morning walk today!!!

Really musn't complain though, we've been having some really nice weather lately .. emm just complaining that it didn't have to be this Sunday :P

Anyway, onto my card for today. It's time for the April new release at Crafty Sentiments and this time it's a mixture of summer, sun and sports.

For today it's time for Toby Golfer and I coloured him with copics and promarkers too. The lovely papers that I used were a magazine freebie.

The corner die is Die-Namics while the border is Spellbinders... a new goodie :) I'm so pleased I got this!
