Thank You Card

It's a Thank You card for me today, and this one is going to the lovely ladies at the Quick Cards magazine. I wanted to thank them for choosing me as one of their 10 very lucky winners in the Create an Easter Card Competition last March.

I hope they'll like it !!!



The cute teddy image is a Whimsie Doodles freebie, and I coloured it with my promarkers. It's the first time I'm using it and my second attempt in colouring it, 'cos I didn't like the first one, but this one came out quite ok I think after I used my blender pen on the strawberry! I cut round the image and popped it up with foam on the white round card, and again popped up the white card on the red one, for more dimension.

Thank you so much for looking, and now here are some photos which I took over the weekend at the Marsa village feast. In Summer, it's typical here in Malta for each town/village to hold it's week-long village feast to celebrate the parish patron saint.

This is the church from the outside, all lit up.


And now here it is from the inside all dressed up with luxurious red damask.


The ceiling of the church..

The streets all decorated with banners and lights by volunteers and the locals enjoying themselves to the accompaniment of march band music.

Sassy Studio

Hi, I'm here again today with another post, a quickie one it has to be as it's past midnight here... What happened, is that when I came back home, I found the second image in my inbox for the Sassy Studios Anniversary 4 day Relay and again we only have til tomorrow 9am to complete our project. So, I just decided to finish it off as it's back to work tomorrow!!!

Here is my card. I decided to go monochromatic, use some embossing paper and add some swirls and pearls for some other challenges too, and then I added some feathers to match the ones on her hair. For the flowers I used my newest Martha Stewart punch which is one of the two punches I bought myself for my birthday this month :)) Gorgeous isn't it! Hope you like it. And oh by the way, the princess is coloured with my promarkers.. obviously ... what else :) oooo these pens are awesome!!



So, I am entering this card in the Sassy Anniversary 4 Day Relay - Day 2

Sassy Studio

It's raining here in Malta... well it was, now it's sunny again, but we ended up inside. Me didn't complain, here I am with a card I made :)

This time I am using a Sassy Studio stamp, which happens to be a freebie at the moment for the Sassy Studios Anniversary 4day Relay!!! I didn't think I'd make it as the challenge was to create a card using this freebie in ONE DAY, but here I am, hoping I'm in time.

A birthday card and ....................

A birthday card for me today, and I chose this little kitten for Alwyn, as she loves cats and I think he's a really cutie pie :) I had used it before, but last time I coloured it in grey and today I decided on white.

Clean and Simple

I just came back from meeting someone from UK :) I didn't know her! but I got to know her sister Karen through my blog, after purchasing some stamps from her and then her sister happened to be coming over to Malta for a short holiday.. and I just had to meet her. It's a really small world :)

Besides, my birthday, I also wanted to do this candy for my friend Thea. She is just 18 years old and for the first time she will be participating in the Eurovision Song Contest this month, in Norway, on the 25th the semi-finals and on the 29th the finals. Summer Cat Fun

Awww what a disappointment yesterday it was :| .. I couldn't believe it that Thea didn't make it through the semi-finals. I thought she had a very good song, and such a beautiful voice .. awww ... ... awww...

what I know now is that I still got me a 'Well Done' card to do, because I think she still deserves it!! and that's it !!!

I'm soooo excited today... there is the first Semifinals of the Eurovision Song Contest and my friend Thea will be singing for MALTA !!!! Ten will be qualifying tonight and another ten on Thursday... I can't wait to see her :)) ..

Here's my card for today, and again I'm using one of Karen's digis. Today I decided to try something different and so instead of colouring her dress with my promarkers I filled it with the same background paper.. not paper piecing though. What I did was I turned the dress only to ALPHA in the GIMP program and then filled it with the paper which was a digi file as well! I think it came out ok :)

A Wedding Card

This is a card I have just made for my sister. No no, she is not getting married :)) but she will be attending a wedding next month and asked me to do a card for her. .. I hope she likes it.. ow and by the way, the wedding is in the UK. So my card is going all the way to the UK!!! Wooo hooo :) How fun is that !!!



The image, which I coloured with my promarkers, was actually a freebie. Can't remember from where though, as I had found it before I started blogging.. but let me know if anyone is interested in it, I'm sure I'll find the link again and will let you know from where I got it. The papers are vellum ones and if you'd like to get your hands on some of them I am going to add some to my candy for a runner up.. As for the borders, that is a Martha Stewart punch as well as the flowers, which I punched out five times and layered.

Holy Communion Boy

Hi, here is my second card for today, and this is the Boy Holy Communion now, which is also from Karen's Doodles Holy Communion Set... I can't wait to get me the two new digi stamps which I won from the last challenge at Karen's UK Challenge Blog. Yippeee :) Thanks x



I also coloured him with my promarkers, but of course very lightly, adding some white with my gel pen. The background paper I bought LOCALLY!!! Can you believe this.. I couldn't believe it myself when I saw them at the stationery near me, and they are really thick, 12x12 and were really cheap too at just 10c each! I just got them and said I would use them some time and here they are !!

Holy Communion Girl

Hi, I've got two cards today, and they're both Holy Communion ones which I have made for two colleagues at the office where I work. I don't usually like to do these type of cards, don't know why!!! but now that I got these gorgeous stamps from Karen's Doodles, I can't say this anymore!!!

This is the Girl's card..... I decided that the best place to get a good photo is outside so I took the photo, on the bench in my backyard. Must get me a better place though!!



I coloured her with my promarkers and then added some glitter on the frills of her skirt, belt and headpiece. The background paper is from my Papermania Simply Elegant Paper Pack and the flower I made with my MS Hydrangea Punch and then smudging the sides.

Aww look at the gorgeous bunch of flowers my hubby sent me today at the office... and all those lovely cards I received from my family and friends. Yes, I did go to work today ! I had actually planned to take it off but I was so busy I couldn't afford to stay away. Ow never mind, we're going out for dinner tonight and I also got this lovely surprise bouquet of flowers which really made my day!



And here is my card for today. The stamp was actually a freebie last month from Some Odd Girl, which I coloured with my promarkers. I think she is adorable. I was lucky enough to win Gabby's card from the Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenges, which I really loved. I was really inspired by Gabby's card and her colouring and those little white freckles on her cheeks... don't know if you can see them :) Even the green ribbon for the leaves .. Thanks so much Gabby, your card was such an inspiration xxx

Some Odd Girl

Here's my card for today... Isn't she a darling?



I made this card for these challenges..

1 - Some Odd Girl Challenge No 2, the theme here is the 80s. I wasn't sure what to do for this theme... and I LIVED in that era...so how was I finding it so hard! But finally, keeping in mind Cindy Lauper and her great song Girls Just Want To Have Fun, I used Shopping Kaylee, which is most girls' fun.. SHOPPING :) and coloured her with lots of bright colours !
2 - 365 Cards - DAY 78. It's the first time I came across this challenge blog, and how lovely, Some Odd Girl are sponsoring too :) The Theme is IMAGINE THIS ----- MONEY... Without money you can't shop he he :)

I coloured Kaylee with my promarkers, so much fun this was, and the circled pictures on the background I cut them out from a wrapping paper :|

It's A Girl!

Hi again, it's a good evening now :) We ended up not going out after all in the afternoon as my younger son had the school open day, the older one was going out with his school friends to watch a movie and hubby wanted to see the racing cars on tv... Me ... not complaining at all :))

Ruffles

Hi, good morning, a quick post today as I'm always so busy in the weekend. Yesterday it was housework, visiting aunt who is still in hospital after her hip op, visiting mum who is in an old people's home and today it's more housework and some family time as well. . . but just finished this card that I made for some challenges.. and now I'm thinking that I will send it off to my brother who lives in Australia. It's his birthday next month! I think he'll like it.


I used my lovely Ruffles stamp today and he is colored with my promarkers and the border punch is my newest Martha Stewart punch. I tried to use lots of white for my card and kept it quite simple for a minimalist effect, but not sure if I managed this so well.. first time I'm doing this type of card. Hope you like it!

I made another card today and this time it's an Engagement Card. Maybe you are saying.. but why the FISH??? Well, it happens that the persons getting engaged are divers :) and so, after searching unsuccessfully, for some divers in love digi stamps, I got me these cute little darlings which I coloured with my promarkers ... I think they will do just the same, won't they?

Today I decided I wanted to add my promarkers and tick them off in the colour chart ... well, I got 46 !!! Wow, this is great, from the first set of 12 that I bought just last year! I still got way to go to get the whole set of 148, but hey this is part of the fun to get some more new ones now and then. It won't be promarkers though for my birthday this year... I decided... more MS punches. Last time I had three in my wish-list but now it's four as now I want also a corner punch to go with the border punch that I won yesterday !!! he he :)

But on to my card for .. For today I'm using one of my Bugaboo Stamps. Last time I used the Scarlette in Bath for a Mother's Day card, and now I'm using the girl turtle from the Critter Set which I had so much fun colouring with my promarkers. I hope you like it.

Look What I WON !

Woo hoo !!! I couldn't believe my eyes when the courier brought the hugest box ever! I've always done cards, haven't ever done anything else, so when the Challenges at Karen's Doodles were all Anything But a Card I wasn't going to take part.. but then I said.. hey.. that's what challenges are for !!!!

So I decided to have a go, and made ... a ... bookmark! Well ok, I didn't deviate a lot from cards :) but it's a start.. Next time I'll try something else :)
