Hello good morning everyone, hope you had a nice weekend... and a warm welcome too to my newest follower. Thank you so much, hope you will enjoy coming again. 

It's a new challenge starting today at Hooked on Crafts and the theme for this month is 

FLOWERS

What an easy theme I think.. Since it will soon be Mother's Day I decided to do a Mother's Day card using a Woodware clear stamp that I had bought from the NEC in March. I inked it with one of my Tim Holtz distress inks and then inked around the edges as well. The paper was a magazine freebie, the butterfly is a 3D sticker and of course the gorgeous mulberry paper roses, leaves and paper lace doily are from Hooked on Crafts ... as is this beautiful trinket pin.

I love how it turned out .. something different from what I normally do.. no colouring today!

A Tip

I managed to do some fun blog hopping yesterday... of course not enough.. but hey I miss you so much and I do need some ME time and the inspiration... Right???  :D .. I do feel a bit better too after hopping along  .. and I will definitely find some more time next week again yay

Anyway, I'm here today without a card but have a TIP to share with you, which I am also submitting for Top Tip Tuesday as well. My Tip is to show you how you can make your own textured card.. just like the linen card, with just a piece of cloth and your die-cutting machine!!! Interested? Then read on.. very simple.

Layer the cloth in between the plates, I added two pieces of the card as it wasn't that thick, and then pass through the machine.

 

This is the result

and this how the card was before.. just plain and smooth.

I also tried layering it in between the embossing mats.

And here is a good result again.

.. I've been using this method for some time now as on these cards.. the blue card on this one..

the pink card on this card

and all the white card on this one as well.

I found this piece of cloth that I used while sorting out my craft room last time.. remember I had mentioned that I found some stuff while clearing up.... YES I do keep all sorts of stuff!.. and this is another thing I found.. an old plastic folder which my kids had used for school. I had kept it too!!! .. BUT found good use to it now :D

I cut a piece from it and layered it as before and passed it through the machine.

I hope you like my tip and try it out. I also have some pieces left from the cloth and from the blue plastic, I think I can cut out about six or more pieces. ..  so if you would like a piece, just leave me a comment on this post letting me know you'd like a piece.

Anything But Square

It is so hot and sunny here now, the temperature is already 25C and I've already gone and come back from one of the taxi driving I have to do today. Housework and laundry as well, which I will have no problem with drying now yay :D  Anyway, it's a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin today and the theme for this week is ANYTHING BUT SQUARE.

I decided to do a Cupcake shaped card. The squared pattern paper was a magazine freebie, as were the chipboard cherry, beads and stamps, and the green coloured paper is from a Papermania paper pack.

Quite a simple card unfortunately, this is a card I did this week... being so busy and no blog hopping for inspiration always shows on my cards :(

Sketch Time at Emerald Fairies

Hallo I'm back with my second card for the day and this time I have my DT Card for the new challenge at Emerald Fairies. This week it's time for a new Sketch Challenge ...

... and again we have another gorgeous sketch for you to play with. I made a colourful card this time, using papers from a BoBunny paper pad, flowers from stash and some die cuts and punches. The sentiment is from Crafty Sentiments.

Here is a close-up of the cute Emerald Fairy image, this time I used Ally and Beeble. I coloured it with my promarkers and then glittered up the wings and covered Beeble with glossy accents.

For a Child

Hello good morning. It's that day of the week when I have two posts in a day and this my first one is my DT Card for the new challenge at Crafty Sentiments. Our challenge for you this week is

So you can make anything you like as long as it's for a child.

An Injury ... and a Wedding Card

We didn't get to go out yesterday... hubby broke one of his hands while playing football in the morning and so the day turned out to be a rather unpleasant one unfortunately!!  My days are going to be so busy now with having to do everything by myself and at the end of the day I'm ending up exhausted!!! ...   I'm just so happy that at least I got most of my DT cards done for the next two weeks, so at least I don't have to worry about that!

Here's me hubby after coming from hospital yesterday ..

and this is a card I managed to do yesterday as well...  Wasn't much in the mood unfortunately but I needed it for a colleague who is getting married this Friday and so couldn't avoid it. ... 

A very quick one as you can see... luckily I had this beautiful stamp from Lili of the Valley, which I thought was perfect for what I needed, as since it's his second marriage, I needed something simple.

Hi everyone, hope you are having a good week end... we are having some really nice warm and sunny weather at the moment yay :D so of course going out for the day.

My DT Card for today I made it for the new challenge at OSAAT and the theme for this week is ANYTHING GOES

For my card I got to use the Hot Air Balloon Set by Tami of Gingerloft...

and decided to do some fun paper piecing, using some scrap papers that I found.

A Giveaway

Hi everyone, sorry not been so much around lately. My brother who is in Malta at the moment will be staying with us from this week, he was staying with my sister 'til now, so I am pretty busy at the moment trying to finish off as many DT cards as I can so to not have to do them when he is staying with us .. anyway I thought I would do a quick post today as last time when I was cleaning up my craft room I found these two large rubber stamps from Docrafts, one of which I had never used. Dazzle It

So I'm back and finally it has stopped raining. Been raining so much today and I needed to take a photo of my card. So I'm a little happier now, although I wish the sun peeped out a little bit, just enough for me to be able to show all the glitter and shine I have today.. just a few minutes .. but no luck, so had to do with this one, couldn't wait any longer.

.. not that you can't see it if you look closer, there's all round the image and background paper, on both of the papers and on the lace and of course on the sweet fairies' wings. Well, I did need all this glitter today because the theme for this fortnight's new challenge at Emerald Fairies is DAZZLE IT.

The image that I used today is Kenz and Tilly and I coloured it with my promarkers. Both papers are from a gorgeous 12x12 S.E.I paper pack, leaves punch is MS, while the three pale yellow flowers are from Crafty Emma's Store... some of the goodies I bought with my win last week yay :D

For a change today I decided to make a Christmas Card as it's such a long time since I did one and so I used this sweet Christmas digi from the store. I coloured my image with promarkers and then topped her up on a Marianne Creatables die. The corner dies are Cheery Lynn, while the stars border punch is Martha Stewart. Papers and sentiment were magazine freebies.

Some Photos and happy mail

What a nice sunny day today. The wind has calmed down a bit, kids had activities of their own, so off we went to the Strawberry Fest in Mgarr. Had never gone to this feast before so really enjoyed it. 

There were lots of home-made goodies to drink ...

and eat yum ...

... home-made jams

and even a stall with some crafts as well.

The strawberries and everything on this bag were made with ribbon...

..and these strawberry key-chains are knitted, so pretty.

 There was also folklore music and dancing.

And these ladies dressed in traditional costumes were working the Maltese lace.

Of course strawberries to buy,  just Eur2 for one box. 

.. and we also bought goodies to take home with us he he :D Lovely day, really enjoyed it!

 I want to show you now the happy mail I received this week from Shirl yay We did a fun swap and look at all the goodies she sent me, including yummy stuff, one of her gorgeous cards and a set of note-lets which she made herself as well. Thank you so much Shirl, am going to have so much fun with these xx
